Compilation of Practical Activities in Our Train the Trainer Sessions

The first discussion is normally on Training Etiquette. The participants will share points on what should be the good etiquette in attending any training. When the idea comes from the participants, they own it and are more willing to abide to it. The next discussion is on the participants expectation on what they want to learn most from the training.

Towards the end of the first module, there will be group discussions to apply what they now know about adult learning principles and styles. How would they approach the teaching of knowledge-based learning and skill-based learning?

The next discussion is on the positive and negative Self-Concept.

In Module 2, the participants will discuss on the 3 Level of Needs in TNA. They will also use competency dictionary during the TNA Process to find out about ASK gap.

In Module 3, there is a game on Workplace Standard as well as the follow up discussion. Design Considerations will also be discussed. Then comes the most crucial element in designing a module, i.e. writing the Learning Outcome (LO), as well as preparing the Session Plan.

The participants will also do some exercise on slides preparation.

In Module 4, there are more practical activities like proper dress code, facilitation techniques, how to handle questions from the audience, how to deliver enthusiastically using proper emotion and body language, as well as presentation practice session.

In Module 5, the participants will prepare example of assessment based on their group's LO and Session Plan prepared earlier. It can be knowledge based assessment or skill based assessment depending on topic and LO.

Revisions are done differently on the different days so the participants can learn the different methodologies of conducting a revision session. The revisions can be done using MindMap technique, individual / group reflection, passing ball in a circle or class, quiz, or everyone has to stand and can sit after sharing about what they learned the day earlier.

Each group participated enthusiastically to gain points for their group :)
